Job Title: Teacher/Mentor (Qualified or Unqualified) - Alternative Provision for SEMH Students

Location: Telford, West Midlands

About Us: Winner Education is currently working with a dedicated provider of alternative provision for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in Telford. We are committed to providing innovative and inclusive educational opportunities that support the holistic development of young people.

Role Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Teacher to deliver engaging sessions and mentoring to support the social, educational, and emotional development of our young people. This role presents an opportunity to inspire and empower young people, helping them overcome barriers and achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities:

Engage young people with the programme by setting achievable goals and fostering a positive learning environment.
Plan and deliver sessions mentoring, utilizing innovative methods to support young people in overcoming social, educational, and emotional barriers.
Establish a positive and interactive relationship with each young person, providing mentorship and guidance in both group and one-to-one settings.
Support young people in developing skills to increase their employability, including practical-based qualifications directly linked to job opportunities.
Monitor the progress of each young person and record a short report after each session, documenting achievements and areas for development.
Collaborate with colleagues and external partners to ensure the holistic needs of young people are met, promoting their personal and social development.
Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment, always adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.

Requirements:

Proven experience of working with young people, particularly those with SEMH needs.
Experience of working within the community and voluntary sector, with a strong understanding of the challenges faced by socially excluded young people.
Experience of group sports coaching, preferably in boxing or a related discipline.
Personal commitment to addressing the needs of the most socially excluded young people and those who are not in education, training, or employment.

Desirable:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualifications.
Additional qualifications or training in mentoring, coaching, or youth work.
