We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Press Setter looking to work for a well-established automotive manufacturing company, which prides itself on supporting its engineers and encourages strong team work.
Offered as a permanent contract, with attractive early Friday finish and immediate start available. The role of Press Setter requires you to Set and Operate a large-scale press, with ability to produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines (HAAS).
Press Setter duties will include:
* Operate a variety of Press Machines, up to 630 tonne
* Prepare and operate milling machines (HAAS)
* Understanding specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc.
* Translating instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function
* Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
* Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications
* Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
* Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
* Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality
Skills required by Press Setter:
* Proven experience as Press Setter of up to 630 tonne (within automotive industry preferable)
* Skill in operating CNC machinery (HAAS preferably)
* Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
* Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
* A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
* Must be able to work on own initiative
* Be organised and have the ability to prioritise and multi-task
* Be able to communicate effectively to own team and other departments
* Proven efficiency with working practices
Location: Redditch
Pay Rate: £14 – £15 per hour based on experience
Hours of Work: Mon to Thurs 7am – 4pm, Fri 7am – 12 noon (39 hours)
