We are now searching for an Electrical Design Engineer for one of our clients who are a leading specialist service provider to the UK’s major power transmission and distribution utilities.

£35,000 - £60,000 + 5% Matched Pension, Annual Bonus, Dental cover + more
Early Friday finish with some flexible working – 37.5 hours a week

Electrical Design Engineer - The Role:
⦁ Using AutoCAD to produce schematics drawings used in Substation design
⦁ Produce design reports incorporating grading studies for sub-distribution loads and cable sizing
⦁ Liaise with 400V switchboard suppliers to specify replacement boards
⦁ Tendering, site surveys and grading reports
⦁ Produce cable calculations by hand and using Amtech Software.
⦁ Undertake site visits to locations within the UK to obtain the relevant existing site information
Electrical Design Engineer - The Person:
⦁ Qualified to ONC/HNC or degree level
⦁ 5+ years’ experience as an Electrical Design Engineer
⦁ Ability to manage and prioritise work to ensure project timescales are met
⦁ Good technical understanding of 400 volt systems
⦁ Experience within the Electrical Installation industry, designing installations to BS 7671
⦁ Experience with Amtech/Trimble software and switchboard specification
⦁ Knowledge of electrical loading studies required
Based in the North East, this role would be suitable for candidates living in Sunderland, Newcastle upon Tyne, South Shields, Chester-le-street and surrounding areas. This company is also open to candidates willing to relocate and will support where possible.
