Adecco are currently recruiting for a Housing Support Worker for a Local Authority in the South London area.

Full-time position
Monday- Friday, 36 hours per week
Temporary role - 6 -month assignment

Hourly PAYE: £20.92
Hourly Umbrella: £28.43 (Inside IR35)

Arrange timely move-on for CEYP into settled social and private rented sector accommodation into settled homes.

To provide a bespoke move on casework service supporting households to access agreed move-on options including, but not limited to, support with bidding, qualifying offers, and access to supported accommodation.
Work collaboratively with agencies externally and internally while advocating and negotiating on behalf of CEYP some with multiple and complex needs, to access appropriate services and engage in long-term housing options.
To cover for colleagues in the co-located team, in their absence and to deputise in attending meetings.
To develop and provide tenancy training to facilitate move-on into settled accommodation.
To provide appropriate information, advice and guidance to applicants with a focus on managing CEYP' housing expectations.

 To devise a Personalised Housing Plan with applicants with the primary aim of preventing homelessness.
 To carry out suitability assessment of all aspects of the accommodation provided in light of the relevant needs, requirements and circumstances of the CEYP
 To cover for colleagues in the team when needed with complex case work or at meetings.
 Have a good understanding of the council's policies and procedures for safeguarding children, vulnerable adults and people affected by domestic abuse, and alert Children's Services and/or Adult Social Care if it is suspected that a child or vulnerable adult might be being abused, neglected, or harmed.

 To work with the Personal Advisor and care experienced young person to identify key areas of housing support that will increase their ability to secure and sustain their home.

 To continuously review and assess client's needs accurately in accordance with all relevant legislation including, Care Act 2014, the Children Act 1989, Housing Act 1996 Part VII, the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and other relevant legislation and case law.

 To provide on-going advice and support to CEYP relating to rent and service charge payments, including assistance with housing benefit claims and any associated issues. Liaise closely with the Accommodation Income team and other relevant departments to minimise the risk of rent arrears.
