We are looking for an experienced Lead Buyer to join an established manufacturing company based in Nottinghamshire.
As a Lead Buyer, the successful candidate will develop and pursue purchasing opportunities and negotiate contracts.
Duties of a Lead Buyer include:
* Prepare proposals, request quotes and negotiate purchase terms and conditions
* Prepare and issue purchase orders and agreements
* Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues and concerns
* Analyse industry and demand trends and support senior management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies
* To positively impact the company's KPIs with particular focus on EBIT
* To establish and support long-term supplier relationships to maximise supply chain effectiveness
Qualifications and skills required:
* CIPS Qualified (Essential)
* Strong Team player
* Good knowledge of all MS Office applications, specifically Excel to an advanced level
* Working knowledge of manufacturing processes.
* Confident and well organised
* Proactive and able to multitask.
* Drive and determination to succeed.
* Strong and confident communication and customer liaison skills
* Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure.
* Excellent time management skills, methodical worker with high level attention to details.
Salary up to £40k
Working Monday - Thursday 7.00 am - 16.00 pm & Fri 7.00 am - 12.00 pm
