Graduate Controls Engineer
Due to continued growth, our client, a leading supplier of specialist capital equipment based in Peterborough, currently has an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Controls Engineer. You will be providing electrical service support to all of our clients’ departments in the UK and abroad. Primarily providing day-to-day support for electrical design, programming, and testing of specialist capital equipment.
Job Responsibilities
Assist in managing customer projects from a control/programming perspective
Develop PLC and HMI programs for machines and systems under supervision
Participate in the design, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of PLC and HMI programs
Assist in specifying control system solutions and components
Support the design, supervision, and conclusion of machine/plant tests
Help in writing documentation, manuals, and instructions for machines
Create technical files under guidance
Ensure projects (electrical/program design) meet electrical safety regulations
Conduct feasibility studies for new technical innovations
Person Specification
Degree educated in a relevant engineering field
Some experience with PLC programming on capital equipment, through internships, projects, or coursework would be beneficial
Knowledge of Siemens, Allen Bradley, or Mitsubishi PLCs is advantageous
Basic understanding of electrical design preferred
Hours of Work, Pay, and Benefits
Salary up to £35,000
The role is full-time based on a 37-hour week
Monday to Friday 08:30 to 16:45
Company pension scheme after 1 years’ service
In addition to the usual public holidays, currently 8 per annum, there is an annual leave allowance of 21 days
