Our client, a distinguished leader in the finance sector focusing on employability solutions, is looking for an Audit Manager to enhance their Audit team. This position is based in Middlesbrough and offers a unique opportunity to significantly contribute to the company's control systems and risk management strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead audit activities, including planning, execution, and reporting within time lines while maintaining a high standard of professionalism.
Develop, implement, and monitor a governance framework to ensure compliance with internal controls and regulations.
Build and maintain robust relationships with stakeholders across the business to aid in risk management and operational improvements.
Generate comprehensive audit reports, highlighting risks and offering solutions to senior management.
Oversee fraud prevention initiatives and direct internal investigations to safeguard the organisation against financial and reputational damage.
Manage multiple audit projects, ensuring all are aligned with the company's objectives and compliance requirements.
Continuously update the business's internal audit plan and risk assessment framework.
Provide leadership in embedding robust fraud and whistleblowing practices across the organisation.
Job Requirements:
Experience in internal auditing or risk management within a finance or related environment.
Deep understanding of accounting principles and auditing standards.
Capacity to manage and prioritise multiple projects effectively.
Highly analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, proficient in building relationships at all organisational levels.
Professional qualifications in ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CIA, or equivalent are highly desirable.
