Head of Mechanical Division

Contract: Permanent, 40 Hours per week

Company Department Overview: We are a contractor for the provision of Mechanical, Electrical and Telecommunication services. Our Mechanical and Electrical Department is responsible for the supply, maintenance, and servicing of all planned and reactive maintenance on client buildings, predominantly based in the Merseyside area and the North-West region.

Primary Objective: As the Head of the Mechanical Division, you will be responsible for overseeing and leading all aspects of the mechanical services department. Your role will encompass strategic planning, team management, project execution, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency in delivering mechanical services.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership: -Develop and implement the strategic vision for the mechanical services department in alignment with overall company goals.

-Identify growth opportunities, market trends, and innovative solutions to enhance mechanical services offerings.

Team Management: -Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of skilled engineers, technicians, and support staff.

-Foster a collaborative and results-driven work environment, emphasising professional development and continuous improvement.

Project Execution: -Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of mechanical services projects.

-Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards.

Client Relationship Management: -Collaborate with clients to understand their mechanical services needs and expectations.

-Build and maintain strong client relationships, addressing concerns proactively and ensuring overall satisfaction.

Budgeting and Financial Management: -Develop and manage department budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met.

-Implement cost-effective measures to optimise resource utilisation and maximise profitability.

Quality Assurance: -Establish and enforce quality standards for mechanical services, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and client specifications.

-Conduct regular reviews and assessments to maintain high-quality service delivery.

Technical Expertise: -Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in mechanical services.

-Provide technical guidance and expertise to the team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Relationships: To be effective in this role the Head of Mechanical Services will need to:

-Maintain and build up a good working relationship with internal and external stakeholders including colleagues, customers, suppliers, and senior management teams.

-Be able to work efficiently and effectively as part of a team.

-Communicate effectively with all other departments.

Personal Specification: To be successful in this role the Head of Mechanical Services will:

-In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and industry standards.

-Familiarity with relevant software and tools used in mechanical services.

-Strong leadership and team management skills.

-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

-In-depth knowledge of facilities management best practices, industry trends, and emerging technologies.

-Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise effectively.

-Proficient in project management tools and software.

-Have a positive, professional attitude with the ability to understand and disseminate technical information clearly and effectively.

-Can work without supervision and always use initiative.

-Have excellent communication skills.

-A legal right to work in the UK.

Qualifications: To be successful in this role the Head of Facilities Management will:

-Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field; advanced degree is a plus. in a relevant field, advanced degree or professional certification is a plus.

-Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical services, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.

-Have a full UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points and no bans within the last 12 months.

-Have a high standard of numeracy.

-Be computer literate.

-Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
