Position: Shift Mechanical Engineer
Salary: £39,000 + £1,200 shift allowance
Location: Manchester
Shifts: 4 on 4 off (2 days 7am - 7pm / 2 nights 7pm - 7am / 4 days off)
Working Hours: 38.5 hours per week
Job Description
As a Shift Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical systems within our facility. This role involves working in shifts to provide continuous coverage and support to our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on mechanical equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical failures to minimize downtime.
Collaborate with other engineering staff to optimize production processes.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Provide technical support and training to junior team members.
Required Qualifications
Relevant mechanical engineering qualifications (e.g., HNC, HND, or equivalent).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and maintenance procedures.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Flexibility to work the specified shift pattern.
