Vehicle Technician

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Vehicle Technician to join our team in Preston.

As a Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various types of vehicles. This is a hands-on role that requires mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work with a variety of tools and equipment.

We are looking for a Vehicle technician with time served experience or certified imi /nvq level 3 or city & guilds. You will need a full uk driving licence and preferably your own tools. If you are an Mot tester then great but not essential.

Working hours for a vehicle tehcnician are Monday - Friday 8.30 - 17.30 & Saturday mornings 8.30 - 12.00 on a team rota. Saturday morning are paid as overtime at time and a half.

Salaries are based on Vehicle technician experience but will be between £30,000 and £35,000 for a 40 hour week, we will pay for the right experience. There is also a time saved bonus available.

Vehicle tehcnician Responsibilities:

- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, and filter replacements

- Diagnose and repair vehicle issues, such as engine problems, electrical malfunctions, and brake system failures, change cambelts and water pumps

- Conduct inspections and tests to identify any potential issues or safety concerns

- Use hand tools and power tools to disassemble, assemble, and repair vehicle components

- Follow schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex problems

- Maintain accurate records of all repairs and services performed

Vehicle technician Requirements:

- Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician or in a similar role

- Mechanical knowledge and understanding of vehicle systems

- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools

- Familiarity with equipment repair and maintenance procedures

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
