Duties:

* Provide the external drafting / design teams with all the information they need to carry out their work in good time.

* Anticipate the information required by the drafters and issue RFIs in good time to the Architect / Main Contractor to avoid delays to the design programme.

* Manage the output of the drafters to ensure adherence to the project programme and targets set by the project management team.

* Review and check drawings going out from the drafters and provide comment / correction information in good time to make sure these can be incorporated into the work before it is issued in line with the programme and target date set.

* Review all comments coming in on issued drawings and provide the drafters with a comprehensive comment response sheet so that they are able to properly revise the drawings for reissue.

* Report to the design manager / project director regularly on the progress of the package in weekly meetings.

* Maintain appropriate records / schedules of output of materials such as stone, brackets, insulation, or any other products to be procured on the basis of the design work undertaken for the project.

* Coordinate with the rest of the project team to ensure continuity of their works with those of the drafters in your charge.

* Protect the project budget by ensuring that variations to the contract are not incorporated into the design without first being authorised by the commercial team under instruction from the client.

* Ensure all outgoing information is recorded appropriately and that the project document controller is involved as per the project requirements in place.

* In the case of the structural engineering coordinator, ensure that the engineering design and drafting designs match and that the various drafting team coordinators and the engineering teams are aware of the others output with neither causing the other extra or abortive work.
