The Role: As Head of Geography, you will play a key role in leading and managing the Geography department, driving standards of teaching and learning, and fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence. Key responsibilities include:
* Providing strategic leadership and direction for the Geography department, overseeing curriculum development, assessment, and resources.
* Leading and managing a team of passionate and dedicated Geography teachers, providing support, guidance, and professional development opportunities as needed.
* Ensuring the delivery of high-quality, engaging, and innovative Geography lessons that inspire and challenge students of all abilities.
* Monitoring and evaluating the progress and attainment of students, implementing interventions and strategies to support their academic achievement and wellbeing.
* Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment where diversity is celebrated, and every student feels valued and supported.
* Developing strong partnerships with parents, carers, and external stakeholders to enhance the educational experience and opportunities available to students.
* Contributing to the wider life of the school community through participation in extracurricular activities, events, and initiatives.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant academic qualifications in Geography or a related field.
* Proven experience teaching Geography at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, with a track record of achieving excellent results.
* Leadership experience or the ability to demonstrate strong leadership potential.
* Outstanding subject knowledge and a passion for Geography education.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
* Ability to inspire and motivate colleagues and students to achieve their full potential.
* Commitment to promoting the values and ethos of the school and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
