Multi-Skilled Engineer

Just Food Recruitment Ltd is recruiting on behalf of this market-leading food manufacturer for a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join their 24/7/365 factory.

Job Purpose:

To provide maintenance cover to a factory that runs 24/7/365 operating as the main point of contact and on your initiative.  Use multi-skilled knowledge whilst working within HSE regulations to maintain and enhance the performance of plant, equipment and buildings.  Provide first-class, flexible support to the business maintaining production requirements and factory services at all times.

Shift Pattern:

4 on 4 off continental pattern, working two 12-hour day shifts 7am–7pm followed by two 12-hour night shifts 7pm–7am, on a contractual weekly average of 42 hours per week with 24 days a year holiday.  Flexibility is required to cover holidays and sickness.

Must Haves:

1. Time served electrical/mechanical or multi-skilled apprenticeship.

2. Recognised electrical or mechanical qualifications (must be qualified to 17th / 18th edition) with the ability to demonstrate and facilitate electrical competency tasks.

3. Three years minimum of maintenance experience working in a production environment (post qualification).

4. Competent electrical fault finding and analysis skills with the ability to read and follow electrical drawings.

5. Self-managing and motivated with the ability to prioritise daily preventative maintenance tasks against customer demand callouts.

6. Flexible working attitude, as you will be required to work hours outside of your normal rota as the company may deem necessary to cover holidays and sickness.

7. Must have some experience in pneumatic circuits.

8. Must be competent and confident with both electrical and mechanical kit with a practical approach to fault finding as will be required to keep the plant operational as sole attender to call outs as well as being sole site engineer on night shift.

9. Must have a positive can-do attitude and be prepared to muck in with whatever is required to maintain the factory building and machinery.

10. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written/typed format, confident and competent communicator via telephones, radios and emails essential.

Package:

Circa £42,000 per annum (£19.08 per hour)
ALL Overtime is payable
24 Days annual leave + bank holidays
