About this Role:

An Ideal opportunity for an ambitious and highly motivated Site Manager to work with the team on a large £40m new build scientific laboratory facility on the outskirts Oxford. This is a secured project which has commenced on site with groundworks and structure for the main building nearly complete.

The full programme of works runs on into summer 2025.

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager you will be responsible for the management of work activities and trade subcontractors for your section of packages of work. Either external façade works or internal fit out initially, most likely internal trades and finishings as the works progress towards handover.

Duties include: client liaison, short-term programming of work, management and coordination of trade sub-contractors, review of method statements and risk assessments, ensuring company standards followed for health and safety, quality assurance, coordination and progress meetings, issue resolution, snagging and handover.

About the Company/Client/Project:

This role is with the Hampshire based regional office of a leading Tier 1 national main contractor, which is well established in the area, with an annual turnover in excess of £150m in the Oxon, Berks, Wilts, Hants and Dorset areas.

Scope of works include education schools and university faculty buildings, commercial offices, hotel and leisure schemes, healthcare, etc. Work is typically secured on a mix of frameworks or negotiated work for repeat clients.

Projects are situated across the Oxfordshire, Wiltshire, Hampshire and Dorset areas, typically ranging £25m to £50m.

Requirements including certificates and qualifications:

You will ideally degree qualified with a construction management or engineering degree, or from a trades background with several years of experience in site management.

You will possess good contractual, commercial and technical construction knowledge, with the ability to plan ahead, organise short-term programs and coordinate the trades on site to meet quality standards and work to deadlines.

You will possess your CSCS Black card, SMSTS and First Aid qualifications.
