Hours: 35 hours per week (+ 5 hours paid lunch)

Location: Home based with occasional travel across Nacro offices & centres

An exciting new opportunity has arisen in Nacro for a Service User Involvement Officer.

In this role you will support the delivery of Nacro’s service user involvement strategy by working closely with service delivery staff in our directorates to ensure that our service users can meaningfully participate and influence Nacro as an organisation, whilst speaking out externally on issues which matter to them.

The Service User Involvement Officer will be responsible for:

·       Working with our frontline staff across the board to support their delivery of local service user involvement plans and activities and share good practice across Centres

·       Supporting the Head of Service User Involvement in the delivery of the agreed priorities for service user involvement

·       Facilitating the attendance and running of national forums such as the Student Voice Forum and User Advisory Board, supporting service users to attend.

·       Assisting with the development of Nacro’s policies and campaigns.

The ideal candidate will have:

·       An understanding and experience of working with disadvantaged and socially excluded people

·       An understanding and or experience of participation practices

·       Excellent coordination and organisation skills, with the ability to listen and communicate effectively.

·       Strong interpersonal skills to build a rapport with service users and stakeholders at all levels.

·       An understanding of social policy issues and working with people under probation supervision
