The role

The HR Services Team Leader will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the administrative functions of the human resource services team.  The team are responsible for issuing contracts of employment, onboarding and compliance management, processing changes to employment and other HR administrative functions.  The HR Services Team Leader will ensure that the team deliver an exemplary and customer-focussed service and identify opportunities for efficiencies and improvements.

This role is part of People and Strategy where you'll help us to build a culture and brand that people want to be part of.

What you'll achieve

You will lead a team of HR Coordinators to ensure the smooth an efficient operation of HR processes and procedures.  The role requires effective leadership skills, attention to detail and a comprehensive understanding of HR policies and regulations.

Support the Head of HR Services in providing HR services to meet organisational needs across the business.

Responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the full colleague lifecycle administrative processes, ensuring they are effectively managed, processed and recorded within the agreed timescales.

Ensure that the HR processes within own responsibility are compliant with employment legislation and regulatory requirements.

Identify, develop and deliver process improvements and efficiencies.

Lead on Managers HR Induction training and other training where appropriate.

Ensure accuracy and completeness of HR documentation and records, both physical and electronic.

Develop and implement efficient processes and procedures to streamline HR administrative tasks.

Liaise with the Data, Insight and Systems Manager to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities and further systems integration work.

Review and update system documentation and identify potential improvements in the use of system functionality.

Manage the relationships with third parties providing accurate information.  This could be government agencies or areas of the business as an example.

Liaise with colleagues across the business as required to provide ongoing support and assistance in a professional, approachable and results oriented manner.

Lead, mentor and supervise a team of HR Coordinators.

Provide guidance, support and feedback to team members to ensure their professional development and growth.

Coordinate team activities and delegate tasks effectively to meet departmental goals and deadlines.

What you'll bring

Essential skills

Proven knowledge and experience of the full life cycle of a colleague’s journey.

Relevant HR qualification or qualified by experience.

Customer focussed, with experience of leading and motivating a team to deliver first class HR shared services.

Ability to build strong partnerships and influence key stakeholders.

Proven experience of IT systems (HR, payroll, reward and recruitment).

Communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to plan, implement and manage change effectively.

Good problem solving and decision-making skills.

Ability to communicate clearly with customers.

Intermediate level is Microsoft Word and Excel.
