About the Job

We are seeking a talented and experienced Web Developer to support the internal web development team in managing the group websites by developing, maintaining, and enhancing group websites.

As a Web Developer you will ensure optimal functionality and performance across both front-end and back-end aspects, utilising advanced PHP and SQL techniques, integrating third-party APIs, managing website infrastructure, and adhering to best practices for web development and accessibility.

As part of your key responsibilities, you’ll:

Collaborate with the Web Development Team Lead to conceptualise and implement solutions for various projects
Utilise advanced PHP and SQL techniques to optimise website performance and functionality
Ensure seamless data transfer and integration across multiple touchpoints within the website architecture
Manage CPanel, AWS, and CDN configurations to maintain website infrastructure and security
Implement advanced DNS configurations and adhere to internet best practices and accessibility standards
Provide support and guidance on website optimisation and accessibility to the development team
Stay informed on the latest web development technologies and trends, implementing best practices accordingly
Work effectively within team environments and independently, maintaining excellent communication and collaboration skills
Develop custom features and functions within CMS platforms like WordPress and Wagtail
 
About You

The ideal candidate would possess an appetite for continual learning and a passion for all things web
A strong understanding of best practices, accessibility, mobile-first design, and security is essential
Knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JS, XML)
Quality-focused with an eye for detail
Experience in web development
Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
WordPress theme development is desirable
Knowledge of developing custom functions, plugins, and database queries will be advantageous
