Electrical Engineer

Due to continuing growth this global partner to the marine and rail industries is seeking to add an Electrical  Engineer to its busy design and development function.

As Electrical Engineer you will work with a multi-disciplined Design team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, involved with concept design of specialist bespoke systems across a variety of industries, responsible for the electrical design and development of a range of projects, from initial design to manufacture. You will provide technical input into the business development and assist with future product development of existing and new products.

Electrical Engineer duties:

Design and develop new products from concept to production and enhancements to existing product range.

Provide technical support to colleagues and customer as required, which may involve site visits nationally and internationally.

Production maintenance of technical documentation to include 3D CAD models, 2D CAD drawings, DXF files (laser cutting), BoMs, technical specifications, PCB Gerber files, test data and so forth to ensure that the products meet mandatory legislation and customer specific legislation.

Testing of products – installation, collecting results and analysing data – creation of test

Covering a wide range of technical disciplines (control theory and practice, understanding principles of motor operation, understanding basic electronics and their application, understanding assembly of parts), We would particularly like to speak with applicants with site work experience with exposure to installation and implementation of plant and machinery.

Needs and wants:

Preferably degree educated in an engineering discipline. HNC / HND in Electrical Engineering or similar is also acceptable.

At least 2 years’ experience in Electrical Engineering within a manufacturing environment.

Extensive use of electrical design software such as PCB design software.

Experience of PLC / Logic Relay Programming and control philosophies.

Experience of Control Systems / Panel Design.

Good CAD background and preferably be fully conversant with Solid Works 2D / 3D Modelling and AutoCAD 2D. Proficient MS Office user
