We have an amazing opportunity for a talented and driven Shift Engineering Manager to join the team at our client, a well-established business within the food industry. Your role as Shift Engineer Manager will be to oversee the engineering and maintenance activities during the shift to ensure smooth and efficient operation of all machinery and equipment keeping downtime to a minimum..

Salary and hours of work:

* Salary is £40,000 - £50,000 depending on experience.

* The shifts are Monday to Friday working (Apply online only) & (Apply online only).

* Bank holidays off.

* Closed for Christmas.

The Role:

* Manage and lead a team of engineers and technicians, providing guidance, training and support.

* Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless production and continuous improvement such as supporting the production teams in reviewing operating standards, line speeds, quality , yields and work with the operations and production teams to identify improvement opportunities.

* Assist in the planning and execution of engineering projects and upgrades.

* Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, equipment performance and any incidents

* Ensure the engineering team builds a strong working relationship with colleagues and the production team.

* Maintain the skills in the engineering team and develop the appropriate skills required for the department and position.

* Ensure the team operate and adhere to health and safety procedures.

* Communicate to the Operations and Technical Manager any concerns relating to product safety, authenticity, legality to enable immediate and appropriate action to be taken.

* Demonstrate the company HEART values throughout the working day.

What You Need:

Skills & Abilities

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills and able to build relationships at all levels of the company.

* Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices

* Knowledge of food manufacturing legislation and processes

* Effective prioritisation of tasks and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously

* Strong leadership and motivational skills

* Committed to implementation of change to drive positive results.

Qualifications

* Degree in engineering or other recognised equivalent engineering qualifications.

* Must have worked in the food industry for a minimum of 10 years.
