Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Huddersfield, Yorkshire

£40,000 - £45,000 + per annum

Permanent position, working: 07:30 – 16:30 Mon - Fri (Annualised Hours)

A well-established engineering & manufacturing business, based in Huddersfield, are currently looking for an experienced and competent Maintenance Engineer with an Electrical bias. With an evolving culture and values, the company promote reliability, quality and excellence.

Job Overview:

Your role will primarily be to maximise = machinery availability via the hands-on delivery of PPM and reactive breakdown activities for all site plant, equipment, and electrical infrastructure, working closely with the engineering and operational teams.

Key Responsibilities:

* Maintain and improve electrical systems, equipment, and infrastructure.

* Attend and resolve electrical machine breakdowns

* Carry out electrical PPM activities in the planned time structure.

* Maintain a strong health & safety awareness and push for a “Zero Incidents” approach to work

* Work alongside a well-established operational and wider team, helping to improve the effectiveness of the team through collaboration and coaching.

* Offer regular feedback and ideas to improve company operational objectives.

* Enhance the engineering function with new ideas, standards, and structured ways of working.

Skills and Experience:

* A relevant engineering qualification, such as; HND, HNC, Degree, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent will be required

* You must also be 18th Edition certified

* Experience with machine controls: PLC I/O, sensors, switches and push buttons, timers, HMI is needed

* You must understand and be fully conversant with machine safety circuits: guarding and interlocks, light barriers, and curtains

* Be fully conversant in interpreting electrical schematic drawings.

* Have a good working knowledge of motor drives: Lenze, Siemens.

* Hold previous experience of motors: basic, servo with encoder and resolver feedback, gearboxes, high efficiency.

* Knowledge of electrical infrastructure maintenance: distribution boards, final circuits, lighting, and controls.

* Adopt a hands-on, right-first-time attitude & approach.

Desirable Skills and Experience include:

* Basic mechanical and fabrication skills.

* Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.

* Working knowledge of Crane operations.

* Portable Appliance Testing.
