Warehouse Team Manager

Hours: Monday-Friday 11.00am – 19.30pm

Salary: £27,000 – £30,000 per annum

Location: Sheffield

Contract Type: Permanent

Due to continued growth and expansion, we are currently seeking a Warehouse Team Manager to join our client based at their new site in Sheffield on a permanent basis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Organise the off-loading, receipting and storage of goods in line with the warehouse standard operational procedures and ensure all relevant documentation is kept.

To understand and be responsible for the safe unloading / loading of vehicles etc. Including the entry and control the Movement and parking of trailers.

Ensure prestart checks are conducted and documented at the start of each shift and any defects are reported immediately to the Warehousing & Fulfilment Manager.

Maintain all operational equipment to a high standard reporting any defects immediately.

All trucks with batteries to have their water levels checked, maintained and are kept in a clean and tidy condition.

Manage and organise daily picking requirements in line with Customer SLA’s and ensure orders are fulfilled.

Manage/oversee the perpetual inventory checks schedule ensuring stock is counted.

Organise the replenishment of stocks to maintain levels held at the pick face and accurately update the stock system.

Maintain an accurate up to date stock inventory system.

Ensure end of day manifests are completed.

Monitor goods held in the ‘On Hold’ bin to ensure goods are moved to a warehouse bin.

Review documentation (SOP’s) and working practices with a view to improving operational efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity.

Organise the removal of waste from the warehouse ensuring waste goes into the correct waste stream.

To always keep work areas clean, tidy, and organised.

Perform and oversee inventory checks as and when required.

Ensure cross team communication to raise issues, improve processes and obtain or offer support.

Appropriately cascade and communicate KPI and organisation information through department meetings, one-on-one meetings, and regular interpersonal communication.

Communicate performance vs plan regularly and the role of escalating any issues that may mean the plan isn’t reached that day.

Take overall responsibility for all aspects of the effective supervision, training, and welfare of your team.

Ensure compliance with rules, procedures, systems, etc. Whilst striving to continuously improve processes and relationships and instilling this mindset into your team.

Ensure that the quality of service within the team is maintained at the highest possible standards. Carry out spot checks and work closely with other managers to identify recurring problems and agree, initiate and monitor relevant corrective action.

* Previous experience leading a team of people

* Previous proven experience working as part of a team

* Previous proven experience working on own initiative to reach goals

* Previous experience working within a warehouse

* Excellent time management and organizational skills

* Use of information technology such as Microsoft, Excel, Explorer, and office products

* Problem solving skills with the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines

* Must be flexible with the ability to multi-task

* Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.

* Demonstrated commitment and enthusiasm

* Have good attention to detail, being thorough and analytical

* Good understanding of warehouse metrics including O.T.I.F requirements
