Job Description
A Senior Accountant is a role that involves managing and overseeing a team of accountants, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up to date. Senior accountants are responsible for creating financial reports, tracking expenses, developing financial strategies, and providing internal financial advice.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Provide timely and accurate financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
Team Leadership:
Oversee and guide a team of accountants.
Set performance goals and evaluate team members performance.
Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment.
Audit and Compliance:
Coordinate internal and external audits.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements.
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Process Improvement:
Analyze accounting processes and recommend improvements.
Streamline financial operations for efficiency.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification preferred.
Experience: Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 5 years in a managerial capacity.
Technical Skills:Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Advanced Excel skills.
Analytical Abilities: Ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
Communication Skills: Effective communication with team members, executives, and external stakeholders.
