The Pump Technician II (PT2) is a pump mechanic position which will conduct the daily assembly, repair, maintenance, and rebuild of all S3S pump assets.  They are responsible for the understanding of the differing pump technologies and various applications, the evaluation and repair of broken pumps, and documenting the work performed and testing evaluations prior to shipping. 
Essential Functions:  
Installation, repair, and maintenance of all S3S owned pump assets. 
Perform visual inspection of pump components to determine what actions are required.  
Understand the working principles of differing pump technologies and applications.      
Assist PT3 ensuring all maintenance/repair records are completed and properly filed.  
Performing various tests for pump performance verification: flowrate, pressure, rpm, etc. 
Replace old or defective pump components with new ones (shafts, seals, rotors, etc.). 
Install, and align newly assembled mechanical transmission devices (V-Belts, QD bushing and sheaves, gearboxes, etc).   
Installation, repair, and connection of the electrical motor components on each pump skid (motor junction box, electrical plug on power cord, VFDs, etc.). 
Perform upgrades of components or hardware of a pump. 
Perform QA/QC checks prior to “Green-Tag” and properly record test results. 
Working in collaboration with the Shop, Electrical, and Engineering team members. 
Identify unsafe conditions or potential hazards within the work environment and report. 
Other duties as assigned by the SM, ASM, or CM. 
May be asked to provide evaluation input of current ST1 & ST2 & ST3 employees for internal promotion. 
May be required to work in other locations from time to time. 
Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  
Ability to read and interpret Engineering Drawings and Schematics. 
Ability to inspect and troubleshoot defective pumps and organize a plan to refurbish. 
Ability to independently function to meet departmental requirements within a defined time frame. 
Understand the working principles of centrifugal pump technologies.      
Understand the working principles of positive displacement pump technologies.      
Basic understanding of analog sensors (flow, pressure) and installation in piping.     
Basic operation of a Digital Multi Meter. 
Demonstrated ability to use calipers, micrometers, and gauges in both imperial and metric measurements. 
Understanding of SCRUM, Jira software, and the Pump Tech Team’s roles and responsibilities. 
Basic electrical knowledge (volts, amps, wire sizing, S3S wiring standards). 
Basic electrical troubleshooting and evaluation. 
A thorough understanding of solids control equipment and closed-loop systems is preferred.  
Understanding of pipe connection methods, and best practices for assembly. 
Demonstrated ability to diagnose mechanical problems. 
Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Jira, Portal etc.) 
Ability to utilize measuring devices: tape measure, caliper, thread gauge, etc. 
Ability to identify the thread size and specification of an unknown fastener. 
Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools. 
Ability to operate equipment including Front end loaders, Forklifts, and overhead cranes. 
Must be able to read and write in English fluently (Spanish is a plus). 
Must have manual dexterity and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. 
Must be mechanically inclined / adept, and familiar with hand tools. 
Able to communicate effectively with others. 
Able to understand and carry out routine oral and written instructions. 
Understanding of proper fastener installation, and torquing. 
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma, or equivalent GED 
2+ Years in a maintenance and repair environment (Preferred) 
1+ Year experience with turbo machinery  
SCRUM Team Member certificate (Preferred)
Forklift Certified (Preferred, Certification on-site available) 
Overhead Crane Certified (Preferred, Certification on-site available)
