Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Job Description
Compass Government Solutions is currently hiring a Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist at the Southern Arizona VA Healthcare System (SAVAHCS) to include locations in Tucson, Siera Vista, Green Valley, and Yuma to care for our US Veterans for a rotating, coverage position during periods of vacancies in a 24/7 clinic, to include holidays.
Job Requirements of the Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist:
Prepare, assay, and administer radiopharmaceutical doses by injection, inhalation or ingestion as prescribed
Interpret request or instructions from Radiologist or medical officers
Proficiency in introducing intravenous catheters in patients for administration of radiopharmaceuticals and/or medications
Test blood glucose levels in patients.  Respond properly to results that are outside normal range
Explains procedures to patient in a manner that will gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension
Order and manage radiopharmaceutical doses as required for daily patient studies
Obtain pertinent clinical data from the patient, electronic chart, requisition, and interviewing the patient and/or family
Analyze procedure images for quality.  Obtain additional images when necessary
