Job Title: Paint Shop Operative/Shop Blaster
Salary: £11.44 - £12.20 ph.
Location: Outskirts of Newmarket
We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Paint Shop Operative/Shop Blaster to join our client's business. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying coatings, and ensuring the quality and durability of our products. This role requires proficiency in painting techniques, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Prepare surfaces for painting by sandblasting, grinding, and cleaning as necessary.
Apply primers, paints, and other coatings using spray guns, brushes, or rollers, ensuring proper coverage and finish.
Mix and match paint colors according to specifications and quality standards.
Perform quality inspections to ensure the integrity and durability of painted surfaces.
Maintain a clean and organized paint shop area, including proper storage and handling of paints and coatings.
Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of hazardous materials.
Collaborate with other team members to complete projects on time and within budget.
Assist with other tasks in the paint shop or production facility as needed.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a paint shop operative or shop blaster, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Proficiency in surface preparation techniques such as sandblasting and grinding.
Experience with various painting methods and materials, including spray guns, brushes, and rollers.
Knowledge of paint mixing and matching techniques.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed.
A valid driver's license is required.
