Our client is part of a large complex organisation in the software and implementation space who are seeking an experience Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join a successful team. Based in Manchester, the company's infrastructure department play a vital component in their operations leading on the full lifecyle of infrastructure deployment.

This is a well-established player in the market with multiple sites worldwide, 1,000+ staff and multiple systems with complex solutions selling within the industry.

Description

This role involves a combination of on-premise, public and private cloud technologies. You must be adept in a variety of operation systems and have a technical aptitude for problem solving. Duties & Responsibilities of the successful Cloud Infrastructure Engineer include but are not limited to:
*Design, tender, procurement, and delivery phases of new projects
*Installation/configuration of infrastructure for new customers & enhancements for existing deployments
*Oversee infrastructure performance for managed services customers and in-house services
*Monitor server performance, proactively identifying issues and detect irregular behaviour through performance logs
*Manage monitoring solutions and ensure servers are backed up, secure, and have automatic failover for downtime
*Communicate and collaborate and with customers and collages to understand and resolve issues to ensure prompt resolution of support issues

Profile

The successful candidate should have experience in a mixed operating system environment, involved in full lifecycle infrastructure deployment projects from architecture to support.
Experience with maintaining virtualization technologies and have experience with both public and private cloud technologies. Proficiency in Linux (preferably Redhat/Centos), GCP/Azure/AWS, Nagios, Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, and VMware - good networking skills (firewalls and switches).As well as being skilled in troubleshooting, resolving issues, and communicating effectively with customers. Additional experience in the following would assist the successful candidate: Grafana, Prometheus, Windows Server knowledge, and ITIL certification.
