Learning Support Assistant - Swansea - Fulltime - Permanent - Term time only
Salary: £23,849 - 27,300 pro rata (£16, 217 - £18,564 actual)
Additional Holiday Allowance:  £1.10 - £1.16 per hour

Ty Trafle School specialises in working with young people whose complex needs and challenging behaviour require a supporting independent specialist school provision in order to achieve positive outcomes. We aim to enable young people to feel safe and secure with learning experiences delivered by experienced staff and in an environment that helps them come to terms with their emotional psychological and physical needs. We are an accredited provider with Agored Cymru and have a training centre delivering vocational and GCSE qualifications.
It takes a special type of person to dedicate their career to helping children with Autism to learn and develop. Your patience, empathy and caring nature makes you the ideal person to support our individuals at our school in Ty Trafle. As a learning support assistant, you will provide education and organisational support to the class teacher, guide pupils during structured and non-structured sessions and assist each student to achieve their full potential. Offer personal care to pupils, in a respectful manner when required.

A day in the life of working at Ty Trafle involves:

Providing high quality teaching and learning opportunities using a variety of teaching approaches and activities support pupils to make progress towards their agreed accreditations.
Supporting teachers with the planning, preparation and assessment of learning opportunities.
Assisting with the planning and implementation of off-site activities.
Assisting pupils who require help during morning routines, lunch/break times or with personal care. To be a successful Learning Support Assistant, you’ll need:

Qualification in English & Maths;
Ability to relate well to pupils and build positive and respectful relationships that are on a professional level;
Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team;
Must be able to show initiative;
Ability to offer personal care in a respectful way.Please note: This job role involves regulated activity with children and requires an enhanced DBS with barred list check.
