Senior Ecologist

Our client is seeking a Senior Ecologist to join their team on an adhoc (2-5 days per week) contract basis until November 2024, with the potential of being extended. This role offers flexible hybrid working arrangements, combining remote work with necessary on-site visits.

Key Responsibilities:

* Conduct ecological surveys and assessments, particularly focusing on protected species, especially bats.

* Prepare detailed ecological reports and management plans.

* Provide expert advice on ecological matters to clients and stakeholders.

* Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and planning policies.

* Mentor and support junior ecologists in the team.

* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on various environmental projects.

Requirements:

* Education: A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related subject with a strong ecological component.

* Licenses: Protected species license, with a particular emphasis on bats.

* Certification: FISC Level 3 or above.

* Membership: Membership of a relevant professional body or evidence of working towards it (e.g., CIEEM).

* Experience: Proven experience in conducting ecological surveys and assessments, particularly for protected species.

* Skills: Strong analytical, report writing, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
