Management Accountant

Management Accountant - Part-Qualified - £40,000 to £45,000 per year - Portsmouth - Hybrid

FryerMiles are delighted to be working with this global Pharmaceutical company to assist in the recruitment of a Management Accountant to join their team.

Role Overview:

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for full month-end preparation, journal entries, payroll management, and payments processing for the group. Additionally, you will spearhead the implementation of robust month-end processes and conduct HMRC VAT checks to ensure compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform full month-end preparation, including reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments.
Prepare and post journal entries accurately and in a timely manner.
Oversee payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees.
Manage payments for the group, including supplier invoices and employee expenses.
Conduct regular HMRC VAT checks, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
Implement and maintain proper month-end closing procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Facilitate the integration of financial processes and systems following the acquisition of the US business.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
Utilise Microsoft Dynamics for financial reporting and analysis
Provide support and guidance to junior members of the finance team.
Hybrid Working:

3 days in-office, 2 days remote

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field would be highly desirable
ACCA/CIMA qualification (part-qualified or finalist) is highly desirable.
Proven experience as a Management Accountant or similar role, preferably within a multinational environment.
Strong understanding of UK GAAP and HMRC regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics or similar ERP systems.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement approach.
