Main Purpose of Role

Conduct asbestos consultancy work at client sites predominantly within the UK and potentially abroad.
Provide advice to clients regarding asbestos found on their sites and offer project management services for maintenance and ongoing management of asbestos risk to ensure legal compliance and safety standards are achieved.
Study all internal procedures relating to asbestos surveying and bulk analysis to ensure successful audits following the initial induction period.
Follow the company's Code of Conduct and Rules for Life, achieving operational excellence and maintaining quality, health, safety, and environmental performance.

Key Accountabilities

Accurately interpret job card instructions issued by project coordinators, including scope of works or contract reviews; identify and safely sample suspect asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) and record data clearly.
Assess asbestos accurately and determine whether it should be removed or left in situ; advise clients on how to safely secure and enclose any remaining asbestos to ensure safety.
Liaise proactively with clients and line managers during site work when problems are found to ensure clients are aware of risks and plans to minimise these risks.
Collate appropriate information to allow for pricing of work, job booking, and scheduling by the project coordinators.
Ensure the processing of samples and production of final reports within contractual timelines to maintain customer satisfaction and ongoing relationships.
Manage accounts for specific clients.
Enhance professional development by attending monthly toolbox talks and other relevant training sessions.
Cooperate with the Quality Control department, including completion of the required audit schedule and resolution of any resulting non-conformances or corrective actions.
Actively promote and sell the company's services to new and existing clients, ensuring all opportunities for work are followed up and communicated to the project coordinator team.

Assist in the education and ongoing development of less experienced team members to ensure proper resource levels to meet client needs.
Ensure full compliance with the company's Code of Integrity & Professional Conduct and Equality & Diversity Policy, and ensure others do so.

Experience

Essential:

Minimum 1 to 2 years' experience as an asbestos surveyorDesirable:

Over 4 years' experience
Held an internal quality management role

Qualifications

Essential:

BOHS P402
UK Driving Licence or equivalent
GCSE A-C or equivalent in Maths and EnglishDesirable:

CCP (Asbestos)
P405 and/or P406 Certificates
Health & Safety qualifications (e.g., IOSH)
Project management qualifications

Performance Indicators

Maintain the quality of survey reports.
Keep client or tenant complaints to the department average or better.
Ensure team reports are delivered by the end of the day.
Ensure no reports remain unsigned.
Maintain monthly production rates at the department average or better.
Achieve satisfactory internal audit status and close out all non-conformances and corrective actions within deadlines.
Meet and exceed training expectations.
Pass all audits, whether blind or with the lead auditor.
Have a full understanding of HSG264.
Maintain HSG264 standards while completing site surveys.
Attend agreed toolbox talks.
Complete campus e-learning on time.
