Maintenance Technician

A well-known food manufacturing company are looking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on all mechanical aspects of their production equipment. The ideal candidate will have completed a mechanical maintenance apprenticeship or will have qualifications in mechanical engineering. Previous experience gained in a Food manufacturing environment is preferable.

The role:

Perform mechanical PPM and reactive maintenance on all production equipment
Carry out routine maintenance on machines fabricating replacement parts as necessary
Provide rapid response to breakdowns
Diagnose faults and carry out repairs
Maintain maintenance records
Ensure all Health & Safety requirements are adhered to on report any issues or near misses
Ensure legislative requirements are met
Take part in on-call rota including nights and weekends
Update management on project updates
Support continuous improvements requirements What's required:

Educated to City & Guilds, BTec or NVQ level 3 in mechanical engineering
Mechanical apprenticeship preferable
Food manufacturing experience is ideal
Experience of fabrication or industrial maintenance or installation
Must be physically fit, able to work on own and able to be part of the on call rota What's on offer:

Hours 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday + rota for out of hours and weekend on call.
