Sales Engineer / Sales Manager - Southern UK Region

Salary: £55K - £65K + company annual bonus + company car (BMW 330e estate)

Products: Hydraulic valves and electronic control systems (hydraulic valve knowledge is an essential requirement.) This is a technical sales position offering innovative solutions to clients.

If you have proportional valves and electronics knowledge and/or a fluid power qualification that would be advantageous but not essential).

Market: Industrial, Marine, Offshore, Sub Sea, Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Agricultural, Yellow Goods, Automotive, Construction etc. (there are a wide range of applications – too many to list here).

The company: Over 70 years experience manufacturing precision hydraulic valves. A very well-respected company that are well established in the UK and throughout the world. They have a fairly small team in the UK… less than 40 people … but they are very much a team. Everyone is pulling together and assisting each other. This isn’t like working in a massive organisation where you are in danger of being burnt out – these people care.

Head Office is based within easy reach of Leamington Spa, Coventry, Banbury, Daventry, Rugby, Towcester, Northampton etc

Sales area: Covering Southern UK (covering the UK below Birmingham).

Although the job is working from home, the successful candidate will travel to clients to establish relationships with existing and new clients. Company expenses are good. The role involves travelling throughout the area visiting maybe 3 -4 clients a day depending on the client.

The company are looking for someone who wants to service and grow business in existing clients (approx. 75%) and look for new business (25%). Above all they want someone who has an excellent attitude to customers and colleagues, a team player… someone who can build a relationship – but with a tenacious attitude. They want someone organised, able to plan their week. They want someone who can grow within the role – someone who wants a long term career with all the benefits of a growing company. This job isn’t just dropping of a sales brochure and hoping someone will place an order – this is solution sales… finding out what your clients problems are and helping them come up with a solution. You will be assisting with quotations, technical proposals and making presentations to clients. The area has some excellent established clients – but there is a huge opportunity for growth.

The company provide hydraulic solutions – you will need to have a good knowledge of hydraulics. The control systems do have an element of electronics – an appreciation of electronics would be very helpful.

You will need to do the normal things involved with this type of position – filling in paperwork, updating your CRM system, keeping a record of opportunities, following up leads etc etc… but this is all part of the job. You will have excellent support from the internal sales and technical support team within the company.
