QHSE Manager - Aylesbury, Bucks
Salary circa £40,000pa (Depending on experience)

Full Time, Permanent office-based role.
Working hours are Monday – Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm or 9.00am – 5pm (flexibility)
The company is a distributor for a Japanese manufacturer of commercial gas detection equipment (fixed and portable instruments). As well as the sale of the detectors, the company have a team of 4 Engineers and offer servicing and calibrations, either at customer sites or in their site based workshop.
They are also a distributor for a Japanese manufacturer of Optical Grade Acrylic sheets. They sell the acrylic sheets for specialist applications and also can perform some manufacture of semi-finished parts. This is a family run business, with a loyal customer base & plans to keep on growing.
We are looking for an experienced Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) Manager to join their team!
As the QHSE Manager you will lead maintenance, development and continual improvement of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems across the business. They are looking for a Senior candidate who can come in and hit the ground running, advising on and implementing new processes to improve & enhance the operations.
You will drive forward and create a Health & Safety and Environmental culture, based upon continuous improvement by hands on evaluation, auditing and continuous feedback.
The ideal candidate will be self–motivated, driven to succeed, and be able to lead by example. The role will be suited to someone who has a strong proven background in QHSE, along with some people management experience, ideally in a comparable industry. They will also need relevant qualifications in H&S, and quality assurance (eg NEBOSH) . Some people management experience is desirable (team building, appraisals, performance reviews etc).
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain and develop the Quality Management System & ISO 9001 accreditation
* Develop & implement an Integrated Management System (IMS)
* Working towards and achieving ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 for company
* Oversee internal and external quality issues (non-compliance etc.)
* Conduct internal & external audits and follow up any actions promptly
* Comply with external requests (supplier / customer questionnaires, ESG etc)
* Ensure that the company, staff and products are trained and comply with internal and external regulations
* Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management
* Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
* Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues
* Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human capital
* Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance
* Maintaining the legal register and the company’s compliance with this
* Ensure business compliance with current Health & Safety and Environmental legislation & regulations
* Manage equipment servicing & calibration schedules
* Update and perform routine risk assessments
The Ideal Candidate will have:
* Ideally 2/3 years' experience in HSE and QMS
* Strong leadership & team management skills
* Proficient in auditing & risk assessments
* Experience in developing processes and systems and achieving ISO standards
* Excellent communication & problem-solving abilities
* Degree educated
* Excellent Use of Initiative
* A strong work ethic and willingness to continuously learn and develop skills
* Proficient in all MS Office Packages, Email (gmail) and ERP (EXACT) software.
* Self-motivation and enthusiasm, with a strong desire to succeed
* The ability to work individually and as part of a small, dynamic team
