Keyman Personnel, your trusted recruitment partner, is currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Quantity Surveyor to join our client - a market-leading civil engineering groundworks company in the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with some of the most talented professionals in the industry and work on prestigious projects that make a significant impact.
About the Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be primarily responsible for managing all costs related to civil engineering and building projects. This is a key role that ensures our client's projects are completed on budget and to the highest standard. A vast majority of our client’s contracts will be JCT, with little to few exceptions of NEC.
Our client primarily specialises in Groundworks, RC framework construction, Basements, Temporary works, Substructures, and all associated works such as underpinning, waterproofing etc.
Your Duties Will Include
* Budget preparation, cost control and financial reporting.
* Conducting feasibility studies and risk assessments.
* Negotiating and drawing up bids for tenders.
* Managing mostly JCT contracts to ensure that projects stay within agreed costs.
* Assessing and managing commercial risks in the projects.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
* A degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the civil engineering/groundworks sector
* Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or working towards it
* Excellent analytical, organisational and negotiation skills
* Proficiency in relevant software packages
