What are we looking for?

The Marshall Group Head Office Team are looking to recruit a Group Financial Accountant to manage the consolidation of the Group's financial accounts and the production of the Report and Accounts, act as a technical accounting recourse for the Group and manage the Group's Treasury activities.

The successful candidate will leading on the financial input for the Groups Pension Trust and charitable Trust (the DGM Trust).

Responsibilities:

Financial Accounting - Consolidating the Groups financial result, managing the production of the Report and Accounts and provide accounting advice to the Group
Treasury and cash management -Managing the Group's Treasury activities, including cash management and FX
Pension schemes - Managing the required financial input to the Pension Trust (DB and DC elements), including payments, valuation, audit and the Groups accounting entries
DGM Trust - Managing all financial related activities related to the small Trust

Communication skills: ability to clearly articulate what is required from the business and draw alongside people so this is understood
Completer-finisher: ability to work clearly and quickly through tasks and cleanly tie them off
Critical thinking: ability to constructively challenge the status-quo and formulate initial proposals for change
Multi-tasking: ability to juggle competing work streams and ensure whilst prioritising, other workstreams do not stall
Senior stakeholder engagement: ability to liaise with senior members of the business, including Board members and Pension Trustees

Technical Competencies:

Fully qualified chartered (or equivalent) accountant
Strong excel skills
Practical understanding of financial controls

Education:

Fully qualified chartered (or equivalent) accountant

Experience:

Post qualified experience
Financial reporting and the preparation of entity and group accounts
Internal controls, documentation and monitoring
