We are looking for experienced maintenance managers and candidates ready to move into a management role who are interested in working in the recycling and environmental sustainability industry. You will lead the site’s maintenance function to ensure that the site’s plant and equipment is maintained to achieve the site’s operational objectives. Working in one of our key sites, Long Marston, the successful candidate will be part of a team working under the supervision of a knowledgeable and supportive Site Manager.

Key Responsibilities

* In accordance with operational objectives and plans, develop an appropriate maintenance strategy, systems, techniques and activities that ensure the plant and equipment on site is maintained at the lowest possible cost whilst meeting the required operational throughput, reliability and uptime.

* Manage the maintenance team and contractors as part of the maintenance intervention activities (predictive, preventive or corrective).

* Train, develop and supervise maintenance personnel to maximise their effectiveness and ensure best practice methodologies are applied.

* Develop and implement a maintenance system that supports the management of all maintenance activities required by the site, including but not limited to identifying required work, recording work executed to develop an equipment history, identifying spares stock replenishment requirements.

* Ensure maintenance and repair work is carried out according to acceptable business and/or industry standards to ensure that all equipment functions as required.

* Develop the maintenances team’s skills and capabilities to ensure work can be carried out according to the industry best practice.

* Ensure breakdowns of equipment are rectified in a safe and efficient manner.

* Manage the specification, selection, acquisition, installation, repair and overhaul of machinery and equipment as part of the site’s capital expenditure programme.

* Manage and develop the preventative and predictive maintenance program, ensuring that the scheduled work is carried out in a timely manner and to a high standard.

* Manage the procurement of spares and equipment needed ensure continued operations.

* Lead site engineering projects from conception through to delivery and installation.

* Maintain the satisfactory working conditions of all employees, contractors and visitors within the plant

* Ensure compliance with all current health and safety legislation.

* In accordance with the Electricity at Work Regulations, ensure that fixed wiring inspections and PAT testing of equipment is carried out as required.

* Comply with all company policies related to Code of Conduct, Environmental Management, Health and Safety and Community Engagement.

Qualifications

* IT literate, specifically with Microsoft Office

* Extensive experience of mechanical and electrical maintenance systems

* Extensive experience of preventative, predictive and proactive maintenance techniques

* Bachelor or higher degree in mechanical or electrical engineering preferable

* NEBOSH General Certificate or similar is preferable
