Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Attendance Officer to join a school based in Southwark. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that students attend school regularly and punctually, and for supporting students who are struggling with attendance.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and record student attendance, identifying patterns and trends in attendance and punctuality
Investigate and address reasons for absence, including unauthorised absences, illness, and family holidays
Work with parents/carers, teachers, and other school staff to address attendance issues and develop strategies to improve attendance
Develop and implement attendance interventions, including individualised plans and group work
Provide pastoral support to students who are struggling with attendance, including one-to-one mentoring and group work
Collaborate with other agencies, such as social services, youth services, and health services, to support students who are absent from school
Keep accurate records of attendance and attendance-related data
Analyse attendance data to identify trends and areas for improvement
Develop and implement strategies to improve attendance, including whole-school initiatives and targeted interventions
Requirements:
Experience of working in a school or similar setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong organisational and administrative skills
Ability to analyse data and identify trends
Knowledge of attendance legislation and guidance
