We’re hiring for an experienced Welding Technician to join a skilled and experienced workforce at an ultra-modern manufacturing facility based in Stockport.

What will you be doing as a Welding Technician?
• Supporting the welding coordinator with daily welding activities
• Assisting with internal welder audits and audit functions
• Identifying root causes of weld issues and internal weld audit NCRs
• Implementing changes driven by welder audit NCRs
• Developing WSP/WPS for new product intake (NPI) and legacy programmes
• Preparing weld joints for welding procedure quality records (WPQRs)
• Monitoring WPS to ensure correct correlation of essential variables
• Supporting the ISO 3834 management system
• Developing welder qualification testing to required standards
• Providing proactive support and guidance to welders
• Maintaining the welder qualification database
• Supporting production engineering with welding changes
• Ensuring correct welding plant selection
What do you need?
• CSWIP 3.0 qualified with time-served experience in a similar role
• Good knowledge of MIG/MAG (SMAW) and TIG (GTAW) welding processes
• Understanding of technical documents and drawings
• Working knowledge of ISO 3834
• Good general computer skills, including Microsoft Office
• Advantageous: Registration with The Welding Institute (TWI), CSWIP 3.1, IWS/EWS qualifications, understanding of mechanised welding systems, exposure to external audits, previous training experience, and knowledge of DIN 2303
