Position Summary The Pathologist is involved in all aspects of FMI's laboratory operations and serves as an internal subject matter expert, applying medical knowledge to advise decision makers in support of FMI's mission to transform cancer care. The Pathologist is responsible for review of patient samples, review and approval of documentation and reports and supporting clinical testing strategies. The Pathologist also serves as an ambassador for comprehensive genomic profiling through education and research efforts within and external to FMI. Review patient specimens prior to testing in collaboration with other applicable stakeholders. Review and approve molecular reports, IHC, IGH, and other reports. Function as a clinical consultant regarding the utility of the Foundation Medicine assays including sample selection, test appropriateness, and interpretation of results. Support new assay development and validation, and optimization of existing assays. Support Quality Assurance, Compliance and Regulatory activities. Develop area(s) of expertise to serve as a subject matter expert. Other duties as assigned. Doctor of Medicine Degree Board Certification as Pathologist licensed to practice in the jurisdiction where laboratory is located 5+ years of pathology experience Well-versed in molecular diagnostic practices and processes at the laboratory level - experience with comprehensive genomic profiling is desired. Scientific understanding of cancer molecular pathways and mechanisms of disease, treatment response, and resistance You are fluent in English and ideally in German
