ESS Recruit’s client is a leading developer of computer vision technology which has been scaled internationally across major energy companies worldwide.  Their software creates a 3D digital replica of onshore and offshore process plants (digital twin) which enables desktop surveys, visual inspection, and real-time sensor data access, providing complete control and visibility over site data.  They have revolutionised how onsite engineering surveys and visual inspections are carried out, moving these workflows into remote desktop exercises.  Due to business growth they now need to hire a Senior Piping Designer.   
 
The position of Senior Piping Designer will report to the Engineering Manager and will be located in Aberdeen. As a senior piping designer you will be responsible for detailed design drawings and specifications for piping systems used in large-scale projects. Working closely with engineers and other designers to ensure that piping systems are designed to meet project requirements and industry standards whilst ensuring that all designs are completed on time and within budget.
 
Key responsibilities will include:

Executing Plant Layout and Piping discipline design activities within budget and schedule.
Production and checking of discipline deliverables and input to multidiscipline deliverables.
Maintaining project plan and providing progress updates for assigned scopes.
Ensuring compliance to applicable/up to date standards, regulations, codes and procedures.
Representing Piping function in Safety and Design reviews.
Conducting ad-hoc offshore/site surveys.  
Requirements

Offshore brownfield piping design experience on fixed platforms/FPSO’s.
Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D and Autodesk ReCap.
Ability to problem solve and develop functional, fit-for-purpose, efficient design solutions.
Proven ability to prepare and check design deliverables within the norms and schedule.
Effective team-working skills to work with other engineers and designers to deliver work scopes at pace.
Offshore certificates and ability to carry out offshore surveys are advantageous for this.
