Yard Supervisor

Jewson are a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe, is on the hunt for a Yard Supervisor who's as passionate about great service as we are.

Hours - 7.30am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday and every other Saturday 8am to 12noon.

Key Responsibilities

· Welcome customers to the branch and take an active interest in their projects

· Managing team of 3 including Yard team

· Producing monthly reports

· Supporting the Branch Manager

· Ensure your team are set up for the day, including delivery drivers with route planning

· Help to process and prepare customer orders - load and unload customer and supplier vehicles using a forklift truck to minimise manual handling (training will be provided!)

· Work as a direct support the management team and act as a keyholder when needed

· Check incoming deliveries and report missing or damaged products

· Maintain stock levels in both the warehouse and yard areas, carrying out regular stock counts

· Keep the branch looking clean and tidy and make Health & Safety a priority

· Work with colleagues to suggest opportunities for improvement

Required Skills and Experience

· Previous industry experience preferred but not essential

· A positive team player who is a strong and inclusive leader

· A genuine enthusiasm for dealing with customers, and a 'customer 1st' attitude

· Confident working both indoors and outdoors, with a strong focus on H&S

· Comfortable in a role involving extensive manual handling of bulky items
