Job Opportunity: Senior Building Control Surveyor (Temporary)

Position: Senior Building Control Surveyor
Contract: 3 months, Temporary
Possibility of Extension: Yes, based on performance
Pay Rate: £43.71 per hour (PAYE)
Working Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:00
Location: N22 8HQ, Greater London

Job Purpose:

To apply significant and wide-ranging knowledge and experience in the area of Building Control to lead and manage groups of professional Building Control staff to provide professional Building Control services on behalf of the Local Authority within a defined area of the Borough and for projects that take place beyond Haringey.Key Responsibilities:

Contribute to the delivery of the Corporate Plan and the effective operation of the Service in line with the Council's workforce values.
Consult, engage and advise customers, communities, colleagues, elected Members and other interested parties as required by legislation, Council policy and professional good practice and ensure effective and high-quality responses to all enquiries and comments (including corporate complaints).
Present at Council meetings and other high-level public meetings.
Take responsibility for the development, coaching and mentoring of individual staff by the objectives of the Council Workforce Strategy
Promote, support and deliver Council transformation programmes, in line with the Corporate Values and with the corporate plan commitment to ensuring efficient, cost-effective service delivery and continuous improvement.
Ensure the effective promotion of customer offers and services consistent with the delivery of income targets and effective customer fulfilment across the Building Control team and wider Directorate.
Promote and enable smart working across the service and take responsibility for the delivery of the Council people strategy within the team, including taking responsibility for own career and personal development.
Carry out other duties within the competence of the post holder as may be reasonably required from time to time.Qualifications and Experience:

HND/C Building with demonstrable post-qualification experience of BSc Building and 2 years post-qualification experience:
Proven experience in Demonstrable Building surveying experience
Proven supervisory experience
Degree in Building Surveying, Architecture, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Building Surveyor with a strong understanding of construction and building maintenance.
Knowledge of relevant building codes, regulations, and standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Proficiency in using surveying tools and software.
