About the role

Balfour Beatty has an amazing opportunity for a Sub Agent / Package Manager to join our amazing Major Projects team to work at our iconic Old Oak Common development in London.

HS2s new c. 1 billion Old Oak Common station will become the UKs best-connected rail station once completed. Our Balfour Beatty VINCI SYTRA joint venture will be responsible for the final design, construction, and commissioning of the station in Northwest London.

Upon completion, the new station will boast six underground platforms and eight platforms on the adjacent Great Western Main Line. Old Oak Common will also provide high speed rail services to the Midlands, central London, Scotland, and the North, as well as direct services to three major airports. Incorporating passenger and retail facilities, the new station will provide an exceptional customer experience for both passengers and visitors to the station.

What you'll be doing

As a Sub Agent / Package Manager you will be responsible for the management of the subcontractor for the Conventional Station reinforced concrete structure and its interfaces with other work packages - MEP, Fit Out, Urban Realm.

Supporting the Package Leads in successful project execution including planning, design, delivery, and handover/close out providing management and leadership to inspire a multi-disciplinary team to achieve a common goal.

Who we're looking for

Experience working on a variety of project types particularly those with rail interfaces and multiple complex subcontract packages.
Relevant experience in civils projects in a rail environment, particularly reinforced concrete, MEP, fit out
Holds a formal qualification (BSc/MSc) in management/construction/engineering or equivalent.
CSCS and SSSTS or equivalent.
Experience in implementing safe systems of work, managing risks and change processes.
Experience in temporary works design, management, and installation.

Who we're looking for

Key responsibilities will include:

Review specifications & drawings, as well as documents prepared by the subcontractor (ITP, RAMS, MAR)
Monitor effectiveness of the H&S Management System,
Support continuous improvement, and ensure subcontractor complies with the H&S & environment requirements
Develop/monitor/report against resource allocation plans in line with scope and outputs
Help to ensure procurement plans and schedules are aligned with the overall project plans
Ensure assurance activities/audits are undertaken, recorded and actioned
