You will ensure that all Rail requirements are met, including BAPAs, and effectively communicate complex Rail-specific issues to our stakeholders.

What you’ll be doing as an Access/Possession Planner

The interface between Thames departments and rail firms, owning the relationship and supporting Water and Waste schemes delivery within this environment.
Planning all track access activities where we are undertaking this role.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of possession arrangements. Proactively deliver track access and operational interface elements of projects within timescales during planning and implementation.
Ensure engineering access timescales and critical milestones are met.
Attend rail possession/territory meetings to ensure necessary track access is obtained.
Identify possession/engineering access risks and implement mitigation measures throughout the possession lifecycle.This role will be hybrid-based at our Maple Lodge offices; you will be required to work on our sites and external sites as the needs of the business require

36 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 9 am -5 pm
This role requires a driver's licence and access to a car.

What you should bring to the role

Working knowledge of engineering access planning tools (including PPS, GZAC, Sectional Appendix, Train Planning, Electrical Isolation booking process, Rules of the Route, etc.)Experience of WON and operating notice material, understanding its significance to the possession and the impact on railway operators (e.g. signallers, train drivers).
Controller of Site Safety (COSS)/ Safe Work Leader (SWL) Understanding of vital operational roles and how they can affect possession performance (e.g. Signaller, PICOP, ES, COSS, LXA, OLE Nominated person, etc.)
Full knowledge of the Rule Book and 019 procedure, railway operating rules, regulations for train signalling and group standards.
Sentinel - Personal Track Safety (PTS) is not essential for this role
Computer experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, GIS and Railway databases
Commercial awareness and ability to manage work packages and identify change.What’s in it for you?
