Job Title: Trainee Quality Controller
Location: Redditch
Salary: £23,500 per year
Shift: Day Shift
Job Type: Permanent (No hybrid or remote working)
Our client, a leading company in the coatings industry, is seeking a Trainee Quality Controller to join their dynamic team in Redditch. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with a strong interest in chemistry to build a rewarding career.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality checking of paint and paint samples.
Liaison with Laboratory Management in respect of new product development.
Investigation of customer complaints regarding both new and existing products.
Documentation of all development work in accordance with the company’s QA Manual.
Observation and documentation of weathering, corrosion resistance, and mechanical tests.
Continuation of ongoing training, including review of technical journals and raw material supplier information to gain thorough knowledge of new raw materials, developments, and technologies.
Thorough understanding of all laboratory quality control procedures, laboratory machinery, and safety products.
Assisting in the Quality Control Department as necessary.
Supervising trial production batches for new products.
Performing additional tasks as reasonably requested by management.
Requirements:
A-level in Chemistry or a similar relatable qualification
A demonstratable strong interest in chemistry.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Good communication skills for liaising with management and investigating customer complaints.
Proactive attitude towards ongoing training and development.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Previous experience in a laboratory setting is advantageous but not essential.
