TRANSPORT MANAGER

We have an exciting opportunity for a TRANSPORT MANAGER to join the management team of an IPSWICH based warehousing & distribution business running its own inhouse fleet of vehicles. With a UK wide customer base this is a subsidiary of a multi site UK Group and multi billion dollar worldwide organisation.

As the nominated TRANSPORT MANAGER you will have complete responsibility for the transport function across the Ipswich site in return for a salary in the region of £37k to £41k negotiable with experience. Core working hours Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.

As TRANSPORT MANAGER your responsibilities will include:

* Ensure full “O” license compliance as the designated individual,

* Manage the operation of an in house fleet of roughly 1 dozen vehicles and 2 dozen trailers in line with Legislative, H&S and DVLA requirement

* Prioritise customer service and satisfaction

* Optimum utilisation of drivers and vehicles within the parameters of tacho & driver hours

* Liaise with external hauliers to compliment in house transport capacity

* Review, analyse & reporting of KPI’s

* Manage a team of in house drivers including CPC training, recruitment & discipline

As the successful TRANSPORT MANAGER your CV should include the following key skills & experience:

* Previous experience in a Transport or Logistics capacity or similar

* Transport Manager CPC qualification

* Nominated Operator License responsibility

* Managing & motivating a team of HGV drivers & support staff

* Planning optimum utilisation of resources to achieve desired service levels

* Resilient & strategic problem solver with strong influencing skills at all levels within the business

* Computer literate with strong analytical & reporting skills

* Current HGV1 license is highly desirable
