Our client is a Global logistics company, and we are delighted to assist them in their search for an experienced Transport professional as they look to recruit a Area Support Manager in Swindon area.
To operate across regions working on conjunction with the Area Operations Managers and Network Support Managers to ensure the transport operation remains legal, safe, effective and an efficient network. Working with a positive customer satisfaction ethos identifying areas for development to deliver and exceed targeted service levels maximising the customer service experience.
Your Time at Work
Key Accountabilities as Area Support Manager:
· Report all accidents in a timely manner, ensure the appropriate details are recorded on the correct company systems, following up with investigations to understand root cause and implement actions to prevent re-occurrence.
· Conduct regular store reviews and record minutes and actions, ensure actions are followed up.
· Report all failed deliveries and working with our teams and the customer to reduce overall failures.
· Liaise with all operations within the network to ensure full legal compliance is maintained and track performance by site, monitor fleet maintenance requirements and engage with fleet suppliers ensuring all commitments are met. Deal with noncompliance and offer solutions, support and guidance to create and implement effective action plans with corrective actions.
· Identify fleet reliability issues and propose solutions for improved control and reduce costs in repairs and maintenance, challenging depots on improving performance supporting the increased uptime of available legally compliant vehicles.
· Maintain a clean and tidy fleet together with a well uniformed driver and crew workforce including good standard PPE allowing this to reflective positively for our customer.
· Ensure there is a robust process for regularly checking driver's tachograph hours, in line with the Working Time Directive, proper records are maintained and drivers sign for infringements.
· Support the transport operations to remain within the agreed Budget and KPIs, actively seeking ways of improving efficiency, performance and reducing costs through continuous improvement.Key Accountabilities as Area Support Manager:

Our Perfect Worker
· Excellent working knowledge of transport legislation
· Excellent collaborative, interpersonal and influencing skills.
· International CPC National Holder - Desirable
· Transport operational experience.
· A clear understanding of H&S workplace requirements
· Advanced Microsoft Office user including Word Excel and PowerPoint.
