Teaching Assistant - Year 5 and Year 6
Location: North Chesterfield Primary School
Contract: Part Time, 3 days a week (Flexible)
Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Teaching Assistant to support our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering targeted boosters and interventions in key subject areas, including Maths and English, to students who are behind in their learning. You will also play a crucial role in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and helping to prepare Year 6 students for their SATs examinations.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide targeted interventions and boosters in Maths and English to Year 5 and Year 6 pupils.
Support pupils with SEND, working closely with the SENCo to implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Assist in preparing Year 6 students for their SATs examinations, ensuring they receive the necessary support and guidance.
Collaborate with the class teachers and SENCo to identify students' needs and track their progress.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages learning and development.
Provide feedback on student progress to teachers and parents, and participate in relevant meetings as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience supporting Year 5 and Year 6 pupils as a Teaching Assistant.
Proficiency in delivering interventions and boosters in Maths and English.
Experience working with students with SEND.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Flexibility and adaptability in supporting pupils' varying needs.
