This is an excellent role for a sous chef (acting head chef) working within one of the leading 4 Star Full Service hotels in Carboneras,Almeria, Spain. • The Sous Chef will be responsible for providing a high quality fresh food and breakfast service. • You will be heavily involved with all aspects of the kitchen operation and will lead the overall kitchen management. • A self-starter with a strong team ethic. • Enthusiasm and willingness to progress your career. • Co-operates with Kitchen team, Food and other head of departments within Hotel whenever necessary and communicates with them on a regular basis. • To liaise effectively between departments regarding VIP arrivals, groups and functions to ensure the staffing levels are appropriate for the smooth running of the department. • Overlook daily departmental rota. • Monitor and review departmental and system standards as well as policies and procedures of the hotels. • To ensure personal development plans are in place and reviewed as per company standard. Sharing the overall responsibility of proper storing procedures, food orders, food cost, equipment, sanitation and hygiene. • To adhere and demonstrate compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act, any statutory compliance, Hotel Fire and Emergency operations. • To ensure appropriate standards of conduct, dress, hygiene, uniforms, appearances are maintained at all times. • To check the Kitchen & Food and Beverage areas on a regular basis, communicating maintenance and health & safety concerns in the appropriate manner. • Working within the food cost budget, always checking/adjusting food requisitions and controls waste. • Checking all assigned food outlets (restaurants, buffets, action stations, and food displays) for creativity, quality, cleanliness and food safety. Requisitos : • You must have previous experience as a Sous Chef in a similar role for a minimum of 2 years. • The Ideal candidate will have a background within four star + hotels or restaurant experience of a high calibre. • Valid working rights in spain- Mandatory • Excellent verbal communication skills in english and spanish or any other language. • Able to work early or late shifts and weekends as required • Confirmed knowledge of food safety • Confirmed knowledge of COSSH (chemical) • Confirmed Knowledge of HACCP • Languages: English & Spanish
