Position Location: Mountain View, CA or Boston, MA
Responsibilities
Collaborate with our product development teams (system, packaging, digital, photonics) to translate system-level requirements into electrical design specifications down to the block and micro-architecture level
Working closely with our system-level architects, contribute to circuit-level assessments and design tradeoffs for high-performance electro-optic data links
Design of high speed data rate communications blocks including electrical SerDes,  sub-components such as PLLs, CDRs, digital or analog equalizers and optical transceivers
Work closely with the physical design group to integrate analog IP at the chip level
Define and run top-level verification and modeling of analog and mixed-signal systems from behavioral model to transistor level
Define test plans (validation/characterization/debug)
Mentor junior engineers
Requirements
BSEE minimum, PhD preferred with 12+ years of analog and mixed-signal design experience 
Hands-on experience with the design of high-performance low-noise linear TIAs and drivers for silicon photonics modulators at 112G and 224G PAM-4 data rates
Hands-on experience with link budget modeling and tradeoffs for electro-optical links
Experience with developing mixed-signal products based on advanced FinFET foundry process nodes
Hands-on experience with Cadence design tools for circuit design and simulation including corner and Monte-Carlo simulations
Experience with multiple successful mixed-signal product designs released into volume production meeting target performance and yield requirements
Excellent understanding of design and layout techniques to optimize for speed, power including minimizing noise and crosstalk in high-performance circuits
Excellent understanding of noise, jitter, layout parasitics, mismatch, and design tradeoffs
Fluency in English Language, both written and verbal

Stock Option Plan
Base Compensation Range: $215,000 to $260,000. In accordance with the Colorado, California and New York law, the range provided is Lightmatter's reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. Actual pay will be based on several factors including work experience, location and education.
